I have two children aged 8 and 2 and i was not able to breast feed with either. I desperatly wanted to breast feed with both of them and was made to feel that if my babies didnt get it I was not doing the best for my child . Everywhere you go when you are pregnant its breast is best and I am not doubting this at all, all Im saying is not everyone can and it makes people who cant feel crap.The first time my son would not latch on after a very stressful labour and the midwives tried to force him on to my breast when he just wasnt ready thus leading him to hysterically cry even at the sight of my breast, i did manage to express for a few weeks but the stress of it all made me post natal and thats something I could have done without I can tell you. The second time I was determind to breast feed properly as I felt this is what you must do except I had no milk none but still the midwives keep saying keep on trying keep on trying WHY I had no milk and again Ifelt like a failure as a mum what was wrong with me why was I not able to provide my baby with all these amazing nutrients that is in breast milk. there is no answer to this but I did feel horrid and I do believe that women should not be made to feel that it is the only option us mums.
All Im saying is that take a minute to wonder how mums feel that cant breast feed when all that is around is breast is best.
