Advantages: saves money on nappies

Disadvantages: at first makes more washing

I have read numerous opinions on this subject and found them both funny and helpful, being that I have been potty-training my son for the last fortnight.

I have no advice to offer except be patience and enjoy this time, it's all part of parenthood.

This acheivement ranks right up there with his first word, or his first step. Some might disagree with me(read my opinion "help" you'll understand) but the feeling of proudness when he used his potty for the first time was brilliant.

The only problem I have now is that he won't use his potty for a no1, he wants to be a "big boy" and use the toilet.

Thankfully he is now totally dry throughout the day(I'm so proud of him and myself). The next stage is night-time, so I'm stocking up on sheets and washing powder, wish me luck.

I'll update this opinion soon to let every-one know how it's going.

You sem to have the hang of things....with my first....he ran around at home without a nappy all the time...potty in the room.....completely dry by 16 months (rare I know) bit different with my other three though......not so convenient to do it the same way....got there though.

Im really glad that he has got the hang of it :-) Be warned though that he could have set backs for numerous reasons. New baby, starting playschool, illness and because he has forgot. Be gentle on him if he does regress its normal. It can be infriating when for months they dont have accidents and then all of a sudden they do. This is just the beginning of a long road. Good luck :-)
