returning to work after having a baby (Working Mothers in General)
Member Name: dustmad
Advantages: financial control Disadvantages: missing out on some of those special moments I myself am a working mother. When I first went off on maternity leave , I was adamant that I would be taking a year off work ( 9 months paid and 3 months unpaid ). As it turned out I only got to 9 months and went back to work. My reasons were due to finances but mainly because I was suffering from post natal depression and I wanted to get my life back under control. I returned to work only part time, doing 16 hours a week. It managed to cure my post natal depression , and my son loved it at nursery. It has done us both the world of good, and I think there is no harm in it in small doses. If you have to return to working full time, I think that would be very different. I feel sorry for those mums who do not have the choice because of financial reasons. Summary: I think working mums have the best of both worlds. |
