Guilty of NOT working (Working Mums vs. Stay at Home Mums)

I seem to be one of very few women who wish to stay at home and look after my family instead of going out to work. Although I understand the financial necessity of working, I am willing to sacrifice material things in order to give my son physical and emotional support when he is at home. I believe that many children become difficult to cope with because they do not really know and trust their parents as much as a nursery worker or teacher. Since my son has started full-time school, it has become even more important for me to be there when he returns home. It must be a big adjustment to be away from home all day, trying to do things such as change into p.e. kit and navigate yourself around a big strange building. I find looking after home and family more than a full-time job and resent being made to feel I should be out there with every other mum working 9-5. I get great satisfaction from knowing I am available for both my son and husband, and running a successful houshold too. After all, if I wasn't at home I would never have been contributing to this website. Summary: |
