Advantages: your kids are the most precious things to you so you usually don't mind a few sleeples nights

Disadvantages: not getting enough sleep, can leave you feeling very grouchy

I've had sleepless nights that seem like they have gone on for ever, i've had a few breaks in between though. I had my first baby fithteen years ago, a little girl she was a fairly good baby and slept through the night best part of the time except for when she was sick. Then seven years later i gave birth to her sister she was a totally different kettle of fish, i don't think she knew what sleep mean't i used to walk up and down with her half the night the rest was split between putting her in the cot or in bed with me, if she was in her cot i used to sleep with my arm through the bars just so she knew that i was their. She never got out of her bad habbits of gettig up in the night until she was four and a half that was when i had her baby brother, she suddenly decided to sleep through the night. When i brought my son home it was great i had all the kids sleeping and i could get some sleep aswell, then we took him to see his granma in the north of England his body did'nt like the change in water he got an infection and has not slept through the night since, i've stuck at the routine i had him in for bed time, bath, milk, story, cuddles, bed but he just won't sleep through anymore he gets up several times in the night i try to keep him in his own bed but i usually give in and let him get in my bed in the end just so that i can get some sleep. When he was eighteen months old i had his little sister now she slept all night from being a little baby until she was put in a bed when she discovered how to climb out of her cot, i think she is just copying her brother, she hears him gets up and so she does aswell so if i can get him to sleep the night she might aswell.I think i get about four to five hours sleep a night i have to get up at half past six in the morning to start to get the older ones ready for school so there's not much chance for a lay in hopefully they will start sleeping through soon but i don't think it will be any time yet so i'm just going to have to plod along until they do. I do envy mums whos kids sleep.
