      Very helpful

Not bad but i will not buy again

I have already reviewed my 2 favourite Asda salads but last time I went to get some i noticed they had a Chicken ranch pasta salad so I thought I would try it.
One thing before I start, the above picture is wrong, I have put a link to the correct picture in - Other Info.

      The Packaging
A square clear plastic tub with a peel off cellophane lid, the label on the top of the tub tells you it's a Asda Fresh Taste chicken ranch pasta salad, also on the lid is the Asda logo a 2 for £3 flash and a best before date, which usually has a couple of days left on it, this is a good size tub(260g) but only half the depth of the other Asda salads I have reviewed.

      The Contents
Open your salad box and you will find a handy little fork in the top, the salad has a few pieces of chicken and sweet corn on top of a layer of mixed lettuce leaves and grated carrot, underneath this is a layer of Cooked Gemelli Pasta, all this comes with a ranch style dressing.

      My Opinion
As I have said the first thing i noticed about this salad is it's only half the size of the other asda salads I usualy buy but it does cost a little less, the salad looks a little bland and it's only the lettuce leaves that gives it any colour but looks are not everything!

The few bits of chicken on the top tasted ok but nothing special, the grated carrot and lettuce added a bit of crunch but not much flavour, then comes the Cooked Gemelli Pasta, little thin twists of pasta cooked very nicely but tasting a little bland.

The finishing touch to the salad was the ranch style dressing, now i did not knowwhat a ranch style dressing consisted of but reading the ingredients list it says sour cream and chive, unfortunately this there is not much dressing and it did not really add anything to the salad.

This is lot smaller then the other Asda salads and there is not much chiken in it, I thought it was rather bland tasting so I wont be buying this one again, I will be sticking to Asda's chicken and bacon or ham salads.
