“ Brand: Sainsbury's / Type: Pasta „
I did a wicked spaghetti bolognese the other night and I had used this Taste The Difference Spaghetti from Sainsburys. I usually use the cheapo spaghettis because I never thought you'd be able to tell the difference after it's been covered in thick bolognese sauce but now I've tried this GOOD STUFF I can tell you there deffo is a difference!
It costs £1.19 for a 500g pack and the spaghetti is more of a square shape than round, it looks proper unusual because of the shape of it and also because the spaghetti is quite dusty looking and feeling when you pick it up. It cooks in about 10 mins in boiling water and I think 10 mins is just right because it goes nice and soft but isn't soggy or anything and it tastes perfect.
I had mine with the bolognese and I think it's a lot more filling than the cheap spaghetti I usually buy. The taste of it is a lot richer than other brands of spaghetti and it went proper nice with the sauce and mince that I had used. It doesn't taste dry or dusty or anything like that and I can tell that it's deffo brill quality spaghetti.
It doesn't swell up that much while it's cooking so you have to make sure you put enough in. I did it wrong the first time because I'm used to not having to use much dry spaghetti because of how much the cheap stuff swells up. You can tell that it's because this one hasn't soaked up shedloads of water because it has got a delish pasta taste and doesn't taste watery or anything like that.
I deffo recommend this spaghetti. I know it's a lot dearer than the cheap spaghetti but £1.19 still isn't what I'd call expensive and it will last for quite a long time as well because people don't have all that much spaghetti with their meals.... we don't in this house anyway because we all love the meat and sauce better than the pasta! lol
