Having just eaten these, I thought it would be wise to write whilst it was still fresh in my mind! I love having stir frys but without noodles they just aren't right and currently being on a diet where the only noodles allowed are rice noodles, I thought I'd give these a go. The packaging is nice and the noodles are separated into small bundles that are apparently suitable for two people, a nice idea but not really accurate. I've never had rice noodles before these so was unsure of what to expect, but still I was disappointed. The instructions on the back seem pretty handy and even give you a recipe suggestion. Having been on a gluten-free diet from the age of four, there are certain foods that I've never tried. Noodles are one such food- the egg ones invariably contain gluten, so all the authentic, noodly dishes in the Chinese restaurant are out. It's a shame- noodles are such a quick, easy, and, I hear, tasty carb to go with a stir fry or oriental soup. So when I discovered these rice noodles in the local supermarket, I eagerly scanned the back for ingredients and allergy advice. Noodles? Yes we all know what they are (especially those among us who've lived the studenty-noodley dream of 3 minute, dirt cheap, hot food)! However, in my post student times, I've felt the need to be sensible and eat more nutritional, low fat foods, such as salad. As much as I may try to convince myself otherwise, I just find salads completely boring without filling them with all sorts of gloriously fatty and delicious morsels (thus undoing all my good low-cal work).
