      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Great noodles if you have no tastebuds!

In Tesco the other evening I saw a bag of these noodles reduced down to 10p from £1. I love noodles so grabbed a bag to make a stir fry that night.

      ~Portion Size~

The noodles are fresh egg noodles, and come in a 350g bag. Apparently this means that a bag contains 3 servings. I think that's about right, as we had two servings of dinner from it, then some leftovers which were intended for lunch. These were quite well bulked out with vegetables and chicken though, I could easily see someone with a big appetite eating at least two of the 'servings' Tesco mention.

      ~Ingredients~

The noodles contain wheat, gluten and egg, and are made in a nut free area, although nuts are used in other parts of the factory. The full ingredients are:

Cooked Garlic, Water, Wheat Flour, Pasteurised Free Range Egg, Garlic Purée, Chilli Powder, Ginger Purée, Colour (Paprika), Salt, Turmeric.

      ~Nutrition~

      Per Serving (Per 100g)
      Energy 615kJ (145kcal)
      Protein 4.8g
      Carbohydrate 24.1g
      sugars 0.7g
      Fat 3.2g
      saturates 0.3g
      mono unsaturates 1.7g
      polyunsaturates 1.1g
      Fibre 2.6g
      Sodium* trace
      *Salt Equivalent trace

I think this is okay, although given a serving is well over 100g this needs to be kept in mind if you're on a diet.

      ~Cooking~

The noodles store in the fridge as they are fresh egg, and can not be cooked by microwave. To cook on the hob simply heat a tablespoon of oil in a wok or pan, and stir fry for 3 minutes on a high heat then serve.

      ~The Taste Test~

Mary Mother of Joseph. I don't think I've ever eaten anything so spicy. My eyes were streaming after the first mouthful. I was actually completely unable to finish my dinner, and most of the noodles went in the bin. I find it hard to describe the taste because to be honest all I felt was my tongue bursting into flames and not calming down for several hours. Please don't give the left over's to your dog, it might not make it.

      ~Conclusion~

I was looking forward to these noodles, however there is far, far too much chilli compared to the garlic and ginger, which I could not taste at all. The noodles were a great price, and even not reduced I think they are very reasonable, but I'll be looking for another flavour next time.
