Lovely, none sticky and easy to cook rice this is!

When it comes to rice and pasta and that type of thing it is something that I really do enjoy eating very much indeed. When I spotted this long grain white rice in Tesco costing 80p a packet I picked it up to try out with a few Chinese and Indian dishes I wanted to use this with!

      The Packaging:

The Packaging is a plastic bag which is dark blue and white in colour and on the front of it we are told that it is Tesco 'Easy Cook' Long Grain 'Part-cooked to reduce stickiness and produce seperate fluffy grains. Excellent accompaniment to many dishes' and that it takes 15 minutes to cook and has a sticky resealable label to the top of it, that my size is 500g and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown. Other information on the back of the bag includes being told how to cook it (this is suitable to be cooked in the microwave in about 14-15 minutes or can be cooked in a saucepan on the hob for 15 minutes ish), storage details are given as is a full nutritional chart and contact details for Tesco are also listed. Nice, informative bag this is, I like the sticky resealable label to the top of the bag which really does stop the rice from flowing everywhere it shouldn't and to keep it fresh!

      The Rice:

What you get is a bag of dried smallish grains of off coloured white rice. Cook it in the microwave or in a saucepan, I always use the latter option and doing this really is very easy indeed! We are advised on the packet that 75g of dried rice is suitable for one portion so pop that (or any amount really) or rice into a pan of boiling water after rinsing it well first, add salt if you wish to and bring it to the boil and then allow it to simmer for about 15 minutes or until the rice appears swelled and done and then finally just rinse it once again and serve it.

I love this rice! It is simple to cook, none sticky and/or gloopy and each grain does really swell up to twice of its size and they really are individual and tasty grains too! Although it is called long grain rice though it isn't all that long but what I can say is this is just straightforward to cook and looks and tastes great too. Serve it boiled or turn it into an egg fried rice or whatever you desire, its brilliant to use for that by the way and this gets a big thumbs up from my household!
