Advantages: Cheap, Does work
Disadvantages: Hard to achieve there max rating of 80% reduction, Minimal effect on already very quiet fans, Maybe cheaper just to get better fans
Recently bought the Antec Noise Killet Kit, which includes the PSU, 2 80mm gaurds and 8 additional screws with noise dampers.
First impression: looks quite good. Came with all the required screw plus 8 additional ones with dampeners so if it lives upto its advertised 80% reduction i should be quids in.
The dampeners themselves are white/semi clear spongey plastic things which accord to the webiste wont dry out so should last indefinitly.
Assembly: Very simple for anyone whos ever done anything to the computer, the additional dampers have one side sticky so once you've decided to place them could be a pain to move them but have no intention of doing that as i'm happy enough with where they are.
Results: Well this is the tricky side as i don't own a sound messaruer. If you bare in mind i had a system with one very noise processor fan, one quite noise PSU and 2 quite quiet Antec 80mm system fans so system was too noisey to start with i found the processor fan is no probably 50%+ less noisey, the PSU 25% less noisey and the system fans i can't really say as tehy seem very similar as to before.
Conclusion: If you got a noisey system and or just really want your computer to be quieter these are must especially as the don't cost much. If however you got quality fans already such as Antec or Spar then its probably going to make minimal difference. So for me (with a semi noisey system) these were a must :)Recently bought the Antec Noise Killet Kit, which includes the PSU, 2 80mm gaurds and 8 additional screws with noise dampers.
