Advantages: Protective - Quality of Cover - Pull - out light
Disadvantages: Price Tag - Price - Lighter Wallet
Cradling innocently without any knowledge of the outside world - The Kindle rests neatly, snug like, in the leather cover away from the natural elements and the potential of concrete gashes; Kindle lies their spread eagled waiting for play time. As an avid device fan, I wanted to protect my Kindle from all what life throws at her; predominantly from deep engrained scratches that'll make her ugly and would irritated my quest for smooth edges whilst in reading mode. I'm the same whatever the device. Comfort for the device and myself is paramount - so no expense was spared when I opted for this leather cover - I felt as if I was purchasing doll clothes for my nieces plethora of plastic people when I searched through on the Amazon site what my Kindle was to wear. I chose burgundy, it reminded me of those extinct Reader Digest book covers, they look robust enough to knock-out house intruders; or survive a house fire.
Smells as if you are in bed with you're shoes on
To add eloquent living quarters for my Kindle, she was to have an integrated night light; some might say it is a tad decadent even at 29.99 GBP although for an extra twenty pounds now making the cover 'the' most expensive book cover in history at a wallet gulping 49.99 GBP - I glanced at my Kindle and knew straightaway she was worth every penny; it would be worth the extra mileage. Instead of peering out into the approaching dusk wondering how long I had to go till darkness falls - I'll save myself that added hassle and have the option of night reading in a darkened room; either next to a roaring coal fire or in my memory foam bed. My latter years have swooned with glee towards such comforts. Now at least Kindle could treat me with some dead of night reading, and espouse my love for leather attire.
Amazon at least has thought through this add-on attire item based on the consumer's perspective, and boy, they've enough of experience of that. The ergonometric design embraces the actual book concept, a mere fond gesture for the traditional book lover who may've been saddened at the idea of losing the book entity, agile in the palms, filling the nostrils with the sweetened scent of newly plucked off the press print. I recommend a scratch and sniff patch in the next blue-print production line, so the sweet scent of ink is not forgotten. Instead the cover's scent is a pleasant leather waft, which when opened an expensive leather breeze minces past the nose and lingers. Sign of a quality leather purchase, one thinks. A slick elastic leather strip slides neatly around the leather cover, is soft on touch, this finishes off the pleasant exterior aesthetics of the leather cover; again, a notable plaudit for the traditional book. Ergonometric precision has played a part in the overall design of the Kindle 3 series leather cove. Please note it has been specifically designed for the third Generation of Kindle. The Kindle voyeuristically doesn't look overly bulked up with the leather cover on and remarkably it is sturdy considering how stream-lined the Kindle looks.
In leather, she lit-up
Embedded into the top right corner of the cover is where the pull-out light resides - the mini light device caters for portable palm read gadgets. LED - Light Emitting Diode has been in use for nearly fifty years, in recent years the light works via a sensory mechanism when activated. Battery life is extremely efficient thanks to LED based technologies. The pull-out light mechanism creates a downward light source from the top right, illuminating the whole page while reading in darkness. Working as if a mini floodlight, enabling sublime battery efficiencies - an impressive piece of LED technology - albeit flimsy, although it's not that you are going to be too energetic with the device whilst reading in a darkened room, smelling leather.©1st2thebar 2011
Where the spine would be on a book, this is where the two tags are to click into the side of the Kindle, lift the Kindle into her resting position - and lay her out all spread eagled, ready for interaction. When you close the cover, you are aware the Kindle maybe slightly animated, so this is where the band plays a crucial part in stabilizing the Kindle in the wallet. Place the band around the leather cover, for that extra security if in transit.
Next I'll be buying Royal Wedding matching dog jackets for the neighbour's yapping terriers, bleeding ankle biters
Since the purchase of the leather attire for my Kindle, I've noticed after uncoiling her from the leather cover, she looks noticeably naked. At that point I check the room temperature and fear my nearby coffee mug, full of coffee, I may add, might spontaneously combust, or its silky skin would become like a slippery soap, all of a sudden and jump into the air like Salmon swimming against the tide. I'm not normally so protective about devices; however, it is the first time I've witnessed a portable device looking so content and snug, living in a hard leather duvet. Of course, not wanting to damage the little mite I put her back into her leather cover duvet, smacked my lips and starting muttering to myself; is this what it means when men get broody? Next I'll be buying Royal Wedding matching dog jackets for the neighbour's yapping terriers, bleeding ankle biters. Then I tell myself, 'No, all I'm doing is protecting an innovative piece of technology, equipped with state of the art LED pull-out lighting.' I keep telling myself this is the case, to justify the price tag and to keep my sanity. And then, I glance at my Kindle, a cyclopean of endearment overwhelms me, I get a clean hanky and start wiping finger smudges off my Kindle screen, trying not to recycle it anywhere else. How I like to treat thee. Time for a lay down with my Kindle I think.
One year warranty comes with the purchase of the leather cover.
Thanks for reading.
