This Marware case, which I have in black, actually looks better in the flesh than it does in the photos on here and on amazon, from where it can be purchased for a reasonable £20.99; also being available in red and purple. It's beautifully made and looks great for a non-leather item, with quality looking stitching and a textured front with a discreet logo. I also like the fact that it comes in very little packaging and that it's very quick to unpack and attach to your kindle, and in use it does not detract from the device's use or get in the way. It's great at protecting the kindle fire (NB it will only fit this model and NOT the HD version) and makes a handy stand too.
When I first used it, my kindle fire clicked easily into place into little grooves on the top and bottom that I didn't even know were there and it is held very securely without the aesthetics of the screen being ruined or access to buttons being hampered. It's equally easy to remove too should you wish to.
There is a cut out in the clip over the speakers so that the sound is not impaired. The case folds back cleverly so that you can prop it onto the non-slip inner at multiple angles for viewing of the screen. This works well, and it sort of folds back on itself if you are typing so that the device is at a convenient angle.
The elastic strap holds the cover securely closed, and I'm pleased the the case is thick enough to be protective whilst not adding unnecessary bulk. It would be nice if there were an inner microfibre cover over the screen, (which there isn't) and being used to an iPad I sometimes expect the cover to power off the kindle - (which it doesn't). The kindle fire does not have that power off automatically so the makers of this cover can't be accused of not having included this option and it does protect the screen well in my experience.
I have used a more expensive leather cover from this manufacturer as well, which I was sent to try - the CEO hybrid, but this is the case that I much prefer and which we have kept fitted to the case as though it's half the price, it's just better at holding the device and being visually discrete.
Overall I think that this is a quality cover that fits perfectly, and which has been well designed and made. I think that although it's not leather it looks well and over the months we have used it we've found no signs of wear and tear at all, it's wipe clean and you pretty well forget it didn't just come with the Fire. Not only has it been designed well but it works well in practice. I think it's good value, and I would totally recommend it.
I received the cover as part of the Amazon Vine Program
