Theres not too much you can really write on this product in terms of how it does what it does..... it has one simple but VERY IMPORTANT job and that is to make sure that software is being used legally.

The iLok i have is currently being used in my Digidesign pro tools setup, i worked very very hard to rack up the £900 to buy pro tools and it breaks my heart when i work so hard to buy a piece of software which other people are simply downloading for nothing!

Most software developers try and create ways to stop software piracy but this is the first ive seen that truely stops most forms of piracy against the software it is associated with!

The ilok works straight from go, simply plug it into a usb port on your PC/Mac and that much is pretty much done, the second and final stage of setup is simply creating an account on ilok.com which is where all of the device protections codes are stored and transfered to the usb dongle.

When trying a demo plugin from a site which requires an iloke the process couldnt be simpler, simply enter you ilok account name and the license is instantly sent to your account ready to be downloaded onto the ilok key itself.

As i said before this cannot be rated so much on how we well it works as it only has one job and does so very well but my main praise of this item is that it is hopefully going to save the fight against pirated software!

Summary: Great little piece of kit to ensure money is being spent on something that others cant get for free
