Long before the Amazon kindle was all the rage, Sony beat them to the market with an e-reader which I bought on the day of release. It has barely been out of my hands since and I have lost count of the number of titles I have read on it until I replaced it with the Amazon version it. I say replaced, I did not really replace it as such as I still have books to reads on the Sony version.
With all sony e-readers you get a cover anyway usually thing leather brown case in which your ebook sits in the centre. The one I had was getting a bit tatty and a bit frayed and being one of these people who takes the ereader on the book I didn't want my goods to look damaged so I invested in a smarter red looking leather case as shown here.
This is an official Sony product and as such retails at the price of around £20. I picked it up online for £19.99 but I have seen it higher too. The leather is much thicker and much better quality than the original cover you get with the ereader. This thus gives it that little bit more protection you require and that extra peace of mind that your books is not being bashed around whilst in a bag or drawer.
The leather itself is far higher quality and more durable as well as being much smarter and classier looking in the red.
The books fixes firmly into the centre and has little chance of coming loose. The leather case does add weight to the whole device but not unreasonably so and it is so comfortable to hold, almost better than holding a book. The edges are solidly made and the whole design and production reeks of sheer quality and I have faith this will be a long lasting product that will stand the test of time. It has certainly prevented the build up of dust and scratches that my ereader would have had without this!
