When i built my custom spec PC i thought i've got to add some cool features that makes it stand out and one of those was this case fan controller, for about £50 it looks like pretty much no other PC with it on.
The design of this is a simple LCD screen that is fitted into the computer alongside the likes of CD drives that you have installed. What this does is allows you to see what temperature the computer is running at so you can maintain a constant temperature and it also has the ability to remotely change the fan speed of the internal fans allowing you to cool/heat up your computer as and when you wish to do so. The NZXT is around £50 so does come at quite a high price but definitely a useful feature if you're tower is in an enclose space like mine is.
In conclusion if you want to be able to easily control the temperature of your computers internals than this is definitely an accessory that you want to invest in. For the average PC user this is probably quite a pointless feature and i wouldn't recommend it.
Not really necessary for most users
Introducing the Sentry 1, designed to monitor high end systems, the Sentry monitors temperatures and controls the fans in computer chassis and displays it on the back lit LCD meter. In addition, the user can manually adjust the speed to fit their cooling needs while keeping the system cool.
