      Disadvantages

Brilliant, this has won awards, it keeps your CPU cool, JOB DONE!

Keeping your CPU cool within a computer is absolutely essential. Even more so if you are planning to over-clock, or if you use CPU intensive applications or games. Yes, the airflow of you case will have a dramatic effect on your CPU temperatures, but so will your CPU heatsink/Fan itself. There are plenty of CPU coolers on the market, some of them blow around warm air and are pretty useless, some of them are really noisy things that just annoy. However i`m glad to say, that this is neither. The OCZ Vendetta 2 ( Socket 754, Socket 775, Socket 939, Socket AM2, and Socket 1366 with bracket ) sits like a giant sky scraper on top of your CPU. This is a big heatsink we`re talking about here, the thing holds an ultra quiet 120mm fan!! The heatsink itself comprises of 3 copper pipes that are in direct contact with the CPU which pass the heat up to the micro-configuration of the stacked aluminium fins which are grooved and shaped for optimum heat dissipation, especially with the aforementioned 120mm fan. Although a couple of years old, this is still one of the better heatsinks out there. I use mine on my overclocked Q6700 and compared to a stock cooler i`m getting about 10c-15c cooler temps when idle and under load. My only criticisms with this product, would be that the fan can be a bit tricky to get on to the heatsink at first as it uses low noise rubber studs, and the Intel Push Pin system for connecting to the motherboard. Engineered to aggressively handle the heat produced by enthusiast systems, the Vendetta 2 builds upon the already excellent performance of the original, and delivers ultra-quiet performance courtesy of a 120mm fan mounted with anti-vibration rubber connectors to reduce excess noise. The Vendetta 2 delivers extremely efficient heat dissipation to enthusiasts at a price point that is still enticing to a variety of budgets.

Utilizing the proven performance of the latest HDT design, the Vendetta 2 has direct contact with the processor using three copper heat pipes to ensure the most rapid heat transfer. The dimple micro-configuration of the stacked aluminum fins adds turbulence, reducing the skin effect of air flow for more efficient circulation within your case.

Quiet and efficient heat dissipation makes the OCZ Vendetta 2 the top choice to cool the latest processors. The Vendetta 2 provides superior and reliable performance with its state-of-the-art design for enthusiasts looking to upgrade for improved system stability for high-powered and overclocked systems.
