Compaq Deskpro EN ... Several of these pc s at a very low price and I have found them a joy to work with. Although these machines are quite old, they still have their uses. One very unique feature of this series of computer is the ability for it to accept a wide variety of CPU s. All you need to do is to buy a socket 370 (PGA370) to a Slot 1 socket. Some of mine have got 1.4GHZ Celerons in them and they boot fine, this was a large improvement over the standard Pentium 2 s and 3 s which they were designed for. Another nice feature about these computers is the sheer durability of the design, the cases are so well built that you can physically drop them, and they will be fine, however ... Compaq Deskpro EN ... have had this computer for sometime now, and for an older computer this thing runs very well still. Despite having problems with Windows, this computer still runs fast with an install of the latest version of Windows, much more then what this thing was meant to run! This computer is also very fast for its price, meaning you get performance, reliability, and value in one nice easy package. But for a negative the horizontal style is not near as good as the vertical style casing. And the inside of the computer is very hard to open up and work on, and it is very hard to upgrade. Compaq Deskpro EN ... I thought I write an opinion on the Deskpro EN computer as I uses it everyday at work and also do most of my Dooyoo time on it as well. Well first of all looking at the market at the moment there is so many machine out their that would cost you around 1000 pounds and would get a higher spec machine than this. Don’t be put off by this as this machine does more that it needs to with the power that it has. Now at work our computers are networked and it is very difficult not using all the services.
