Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Desktop Li 3740 ... using a trusted single core computer for so many years I have done away with one and decided to join the bandwagon of the multi-core. And from the sounds of it the 4 core ones are the best - and so here I am. - the BASICS - The Li 3740 is made by a computer company Fujitsu Siemens. I have heard all kinds of unfair comments about this company but the fact is they are reputable and they make computers - bottom line. The computer is of fairly standard specs of today: Core 2 Quad Q8200, 3Gb RAM, 500Gb hard disk, nVidia GeForce 9500 GS. (Please note the specification listed on Dooyoo is not actually correct.) Dell Optiplex GX520 ... As a company, we probably have about 2000 Dell PCs situated across all sites. I have had the Optiplex GX520 for almost a year now without any problem of any description. Mine is primarily used for writing software with Visual Studio and writing database code in MS SQL Server which affects millions of rows of data. These applications would really test the machine to the limits but how would it perform? As this machine was bought as part of a batch, the price paid would not be the same as you would pay for a single unit. I would expect to pay around the £500 mark if buying from the Dell website. Dell Inspiron 530s ... bought 10 of these from the Dell Outlet, and sold them on to various clients - both home and business users. The specification back then (early 2008) was a Core 2 Duo CPU running at 2.2Ghz, and they came with 1GB of RAM and a 250GB Hard Disk. I immediately added an extra 1GB of RAM and it made a world of difference. I ended up keeping on for my self, for running the business from, and it s been fine. This is a slimline machine, so bear that in mind if you re a gamer and want to improve on the (adequate) onboard graphics. I ve looked around for a half-decent, HALF-HEIGHT graphics card and ended up butchering a full height but quite small card. Doing that has freed up ...
