Apple eMac ... iMovie HD and iDvd are bundled with this (neither are much worth shouting about) but Garageband which is also bundled is fun. It is the best value Apple computer by far (avoid the macmini like the plague) though it doesnot sport the G5, the G4 is very much adequate and the ATI radeon graphics card is great. Buy it now before apple destroy it by replacing the powerpc with a crappy intel processor. As far as iMacs go, dont bother- I've heard the CRT gets burned out with the close proximity to the powerful G5 processor and the mac mini has ALL the disadvantages of the iBook and powerbook but None of the advantages apart from easy mobility (but you still have to ... The machine in general comes with a very fast Pentium 4 2.4ghz dual processor, 256 MB Ram (min) and at least a 40gb hard drive, so there is alot of nice components inside. The only thing that this type of compaq lacks is additional PCI slots, it comes with a standard 1, but thats all so if you wanted to add anyting more then 1 extra component then you would be stuffed. We use alot of comapq machines and in terms of use in an office this is more then adequate to run all your normal programs and operating system, there is the option of upgrading or adding... Lenovo Thinkcentre M50 8187 ... much memory on it. I wont go into complicated details like memory size, RAM, etc because most people dont tend to understand them to well. Basicly, underneath all the fancy advertising and posh words this is an average computer for an average person. It would be ideal for a student, like me. I bought this pc for about £500 new recently. But be warned! This, like many other computers, may seem great at first, but after a while it grinds to a halt while browsing the internet, freezes when playing games, and takes a lifetime to boot up.
