Advantages: Fast and very user friendly.

Disadvantages: Screen can be too bright and marks easily (fingerprints etc) Oh and cost.

My Christmas present to myself was this beautiful new iMac, and I was not disappointing. The delivery from the apple online store was very quick and I was kept updated by e-mail. It was safely packed and very easy to set up, as as the 'workings' are inside the screen there is very little to connect so in theory very little to go wrong at this stage.
The first thing that struck me was the size of the screen and how clear it was, though a little bright and I now have the brightness setting on low. Set up was quick and painless and giving you the option to import data and setting from another computer - I would advise doing this using a cable, when I tried by using the wireless network it said it would take 7 hours! but took less than 30 minutes using a USB cable.
I installed all my software without an issue and the speed of opening documents and programmes is so quick as to be instant. The sheer size of the screen means that having two programmes open and side by side is not an issue, very useful if you are working and using the internet at the same time as no more flicking between pages trying to remember details.
My only real problem with the machine is how reflective the screen is and how easily it picks up marks. (my kitten's paw prints are all over it!). I also imagine that if something goes wrong it might be a real bugger to fix due to the all in one design.
OK yes it is expensive but macs generally are and I certainly think you get what you pay for with this machine. Its probably more suited to people who want the large screen to edit film and photos to a high degree - but quite frankly the iMac is a joy to use.

Summary: An iMac to fall in love with - if you can afford it.
