I love my Mac Mini, It's sleek and looks great on my desktop. Let me take you through the features.

Slot Loading Superdrive. This means you can read and write DVD's. This is great, especially with the inbuilt iLife suite. With this suite, you can create movies and photo slideshows, burn them to disk and share them with your friends and family.

USB ports. I will admit, because of the space available these are particularly fiddly, so I would advise a USB hub if you are frequently plugging and un-plugging USB devices.

Aesthetics. It has a solid metal casing, with an acrylic top with the apple logo engraved into it. It looks fabulous. When you switch it on, it makes the traditional Apple sound which as Mac users we all love. There is a tiny little LED in the casing which pulsates when on sleep and fades in and out when switching on and off.

The software on a mac is excellent, it runs on Mac OS X, which is a fantastic operating system. I have never crashed the operating system to the point where it needs restarting. The only problems I have had is unsurprisingly with Microsoft Internet Explorer, which comes pre-installed. I would recommend getting Firefox to browse the internet with, it is far more stable.

This is the cheapest way to get an Apple Mac. Make sure you get 2GB of ram so that it runs fast. I have 1GB and struggle running higher end applications on it sometimes. The hard drive is excellent at 120Gb. My advice on this front is just to make sure you purchase the next model up, with the extra RAM. This will bring you up to spec with the latest software.

I have set it to shut down at midnight, which is good as I can forget to turn it off and it will switch itself off. One time though, I have tried to switch it off and I have come back to it and found that it has an error message on the screen requiring a hard shutdown (holding the button on the back). This has only happened once though.

If you want a simple, easy to use computer, I would recommend this very much!
