One of the best computers available (Apple Power Mac G4)

The G4 is, in my opinion, the best computer available today. It is by no means perfect, but no computer is I will outline the good and bad points:

The G4 has many advantages. It looks interesting without being garish, mainly thanks to the colour scheme. It can be fully customised when you order it and you can add many useful peripherals. It has plenty of card slots, and is built to last - I dropped mine by accident from four feet in the air and it came off none the worse for wear. The case is simplicity itself to open up and access the insides. It also runs what is from my perspective the most feature-filled, easy to use and downright sexy operating system available: the Mac OS.

There are a few problems. While it can store plenty of 3.5 inch hard drives inside it there are NO spare 5.25 inch CD-ROM size bays, a major proble if you want to buy a CD burner later (although a combined DVD/CD writer is available built in). The software available for Mac has improved greatly over the last few years but it still lags behind the PC in sheer range of choice, particularly in home-user software like games and simple web builders.

However, the G4 comes wholeheartedly recommended by me for anybody who does not demand all the latest games. It does not come cheap, but the price is definitely worth it.
