Advantages: Good computer

Disadvantages: Old technology now

I received This computer for my Christmas a few years ago now and it has never failed me yet!!!

I got it with an updated sound card and it sounds amazing with a normal desktop speaker or even with my professional pro-audio speakers! Which is good as I use these to do mixing and recording. The screen is a 15-inch flat-screen which amazing quality and I can't really say anything bad about it.

It comes with a 15-inch Flat panel monitor as standard (when I got it anyway)

The computer has a CD drive and optional Zip and Floppy drive. The CD drive also doubles as a DVD drive and a CD writer, which is great for having friends over and watching a DVD and making CD's with all of your favorite music.
It comes complete with 2 USB ports on the front and 4 on the back which is perfect for me as my, Printer, Mouse, Web-cam, Wireless receiver and keyboard all use USB and there is still one port free for when i use a USB flash drive.
There is a headphone socket and a microphone socket too. This is very handy for IM messaging. Which i use all the time!!

It has a very nice design to it which is always better than a big lump sitting on your desk!
It is fairly easy to connect up if you know a bit about computers (I'm 13 and can do it without help) but their are detailed instructions with diagrams in the box if you need help installing.
All the required software is supplied in the box.
There is a choice of optional extras available like:
Sound cards, Bigger screens (flat panel), Memory cards, wire less keyboard and mouse, Dell speakers etc etc.

Some bad points are that it is old technology now. There are faster computers around but this is still a good choice. also you may need to Hoover the air hole so as it doesn't slow the fan.
It has a Pentium 4 processor and run Microsoft XP home edition or business edition easily.
I won't go into the full specs of the computer as you can get them from other places like the official Webster.

Microsoft XP is not the most modern operating system as the release of " Vista" this month has changed that. After saying that XP is amazing, it may take a bit of getting used to if you are used to older operating systems but after you get into it, it is actually a lot more user friendly and I enjoy using it.
My computer is perfect as i love music and has loads of space for music and is perfect for internet gaming and browsing. It is easy to download new features as an automatic popup appears telling you that something is ready to download. Download speeds are good depending on what Internet service provider your on.

The Speed of this computer can slow if you try to do to many things at once but it has never crashed on me.
All round this is a great computer that can do all I want it to and more. Amazing customer service if you want to use it and an easy to follow web-site (dell.co.uk) when ordering. My dad always uses dell even in his business (he owns 4 shops) and Dell have never failed him yet to this day.

I love my computer and I don't know where I would be without it!!
Great for anyone.

Now this is a more involved review although on both PC reviews you do state that Vista is amazing and so is Windows XP. Bear in mind that XP is still a system that uses much software online and offline, so it does have particular merits whilst Windows sort out the continued problems they're having with their newer Vista. More research into the price would be good - even if it was a gift.

And you should research online how good Dell actually are with their "Amazing" customer service.
