System of choice don't choose their customer care! (Dell Dimension L)

Advantages: Great system, very reliable.

Disadvantages: Be careful which operating system you want for it.

Whilst working in my previous business i purchased many Dell computers for business use. In particular I puchased at least 50 of the L800 Dimension series. The exact specification of the machines was PIII 800 mini tower, 128MB RAM, 10GB Hard drive, 48x speed IDE Internal CD-ROM drive, 56K modem, Dell 17" monitor, Creative Labs Sound card, keyboard and mouse.

Compared to the other machines that were used in the office at that time this was an excellent system overall and apart from a couple of glitches with software never caused any problems.

One major concern with Dell apart from the obvious problems people have with customer services, is the operating system they are sending out with their systems, for business use they seem to be sending out Windows ME. Windows 98 has now been discontinued on the Dimension series. Just make sure you specify which Operating system you require, I would recommend Windows 2000 for business use and Windows ME for home use.

In conclusion however I would recomend this system as a great choice to anyone who would like to purchase it.
