johngas7 Dell Dimension 9200: ... slot, plus all the expected connections on the back of the box. It s lasted 2 years and whilst it can be slow at times, I ve had no problems with the 9200. Not sure how much they d cost now - with technology moving on all the time it might be better to get a newer model, but Dell are a leading brand so you d wouldn t be wrong to consider buying a Dell, whether it s the Dell Dimension 9200 or not....

Craggybuk Dell Optiplex GX520
... As a company, we probably have about 2000 Dell PCs situated across all sites. I have had the Optiplex GX520 for almost a year now without any problem of any description. Mine is primarily used for writing software with Visual Studio and writing database code in MS SQL Server which affects millions of rows of data. These applications would really test the machine to the limits but how would it perform? As this machine was bought as part of a batch, the price paid would not be the same as you would pay for a single unit. I would expect to pay around the £500 mark if buying from the Dell website. Looks The Optiplex comes in Dells standard black coloured ca...

grovenet Dell Inspiron 530s
... bought 10 of these from the Dell Outlet, and sold them on to various clients - both home and business users. The specification back then (early 2008) was a Core 2 Duo CPU running at 2.2Ghz, and they came with 1GB of RAM and a 250GB Hard Disk. I immediately added an extra 1GB of RAM and it made a world of difference. I ended up keeping on for my self, for running the business from, and it s been fine. This is a slimline machine, so bear that in mind if you re a gamer and want to improve on the (adequate) onboard graphics. I ve looked around for a half-decent, HALF-HEIGHT graphics card and ended up butchering a full height but quite small card. Doing that has freed up ...

bertles86 Dell Optiplex GX1 450-MHz
... am currently writing this review on the Optiplex GX1 system at work, and it is very reliable as ever for a Dell. You really cannot fail with a Dell, if you don t build your own (as I do) and have limited knowledge of computing then a Dell should be your choice. The Optiplex range is usually marketed as a corporate range, as it usually has a more powerful set of specs when compared to the more home personal based systems in the Dimension range. This particular system is now dated with only a P3 CPU, but if running XP or nowadays Ubuntu (a much less resource hungry OS) then it will run like a dream and meet the needs of an SME office easily once you have stuck in a larg...
