Advantages: affordable, dvd recorder, tft monitor

Disadvantages: plain tower

Well I have had various pc's in my time and often get bored with them and sell them on towards newer models. The last pc i owned had a P4 2.66 ghz processor which was quite decent but ran at around £1000.00 for the basic system. This is about the Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo L system that I have Just bought.

Here are the basics with the new system.

15" TFT flatscreen monitor
Standard Fujitsu-Siemens keyboard
Standard Fujitsu-Siemens Scroll mouse
Standard Fujitsu-Siemens Speakers with 120 watt pmpo
Athlon XP 2600+ Processor
80 Gb Hdd
Standard 1.44 mb Floppy
Dvd Rom drive
Dvd+R 4.7gb dvd writer
512 mb ddr ram
modem 56k v.92
Nvidia Geforce 4 graphics
Windows XP

Not bad a little package especially when I let you know the current price of the model is only £699.99. This was at PC World. Now my old pc was fine but it only had 2 slots for memory on the motherboard and I had 2 slots of 256mb ddr fitted. This meant that I either had to throw away ddr to replace it if I wanted to upgrade it or get a new motherboard with more slots. However the Fujitsu also has only 2 memory slots but the difference is that it comes fitted with a single slot of 512 mb ddr which means that the other slot is still available to you should you wish to upgrade it more.

Secondly it is not very often that a pc for less than 700 quid comes fitted with a dvd recorder which means that you can author your own dvd movies. This was anothr good selling point for me because I basically wanted a dvd recorder anyway and that waould set me back around £120.00 for that alone. From computer fairs you can now get 100 blank dvd+r for about 50 -60 quid so you can burn dvd's quite cheaply now.

Plus as with all systems there were offers where you could pay a bit more and get a new printer and scanner etc but I did not need to as I have already got all of them and games do not bother me too much .

You get s

everal books with this pc letting you know how to set it up and get started as well as the system restore disks and disks with extras on for the monitor etc but I have not even bothered to read through them as I don't need to be told how to plug a monitor in. Anyone who has had a pc for a while should be able to set it up without any problems at all.

The only drawback for me is do not really like the look of the tower too much but that is not too much of a problem as I do not know exactly how long I will have this model for. Lol.
Anyway if you are considering a new pc you couldn't go wrong for the performance of a system like this at this sort of price.

Good op! - I would have liked to have seen more information on how well it performs in different situations, if you've had any problems with it, that kind of thing.
