I am currently using my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo to write this review, having owned this particular desktop pc for around 2-years. I am running windows vista (a poor system in my opinion) on the computer, and so far its performed smoothly, with no need for recovering/restoring windows at an earlier date.
I think the black and white mixed exterior compliments the outer design of this stylish desktop tower. I purchased a large Acer X193HQLb screen for £170 seperate to the desktop, so that I could use the PC as a TV as well as a family computer. This system works well and the styling of the monitor matches that of the tower well.
The tower has been design so that the USB ports, SD slots and other connective parts are not hiden by an openable flap, but thankfully this doesn't ruin the overall look of the machine.
Running windows vista is a nightmare on any system, but this computer handles the high memory cost of the OS well. As for usability within vista, that is something most people already know, and the rest need to find out for themselves as it would take an extra 10,000 words to describe it - plus this review is about the PC not the OS.
Usability in accordance with the various ports mentioned and the sockets for the cables to enter in the back, these are standard and as user-friendly as they can be.
However, the USB and other ports located in the front are in my opinion of a higher user-friendliness, for they are not covered and so can have a device plugged into them easily and quickly.
The computer has a quad-core processor unit with high power allowing for multiple tasks to be completed simultaniously.
4GB of RAM and an NVIDIA nForce 630i graphics card make for excellent gaming capabilities and an incredibly good computer at performing every other task below and beyond.
640GB hard-drive means anything and everything can be recorded and saved, no every-day material is too large, and alot of seperate material can be stored and accessed quickly with the hard-drives 7200 rpm speed.
Altogether a fantastic creation which without windows vista (bare in mind windows 7 is now available) this machine would be near perfect.
The price may set you back, at roughly £400-500, but if you have the money then this is a definite contender for your new home/office/gaming Personal Computer!
I recomend you to buy it from Amazon rather than Nice pc as 'nice pc' did not even bother to respond to my e mail when I complained about their service. To give it 5 out of 5, it would need stronger processor and better/ even quieter fan. There are few different models of amilo pi 3630. It looks great, graphics are enought even for medium/very demanding games. It is sold for £600 which is a little bit more than it should be. They should have build in speakers, but they did not so buy ones. The button to open Blu Ray is not positioned in the best way. When you opent it you have to put your hand under a cover which opens. Or have your PC on your left.Otherwise it is good PC. Strongly recomended.
