      Beautiful and efficient system

I'm sure we all agree to the fact that All-in-one computers have a great space-saving profile for businesses and regular home users. When configured with WiFi and wireless keyboard/mouse, the only cable is the power cable, making for an uncluttered and unimposing look..
The system has a very clean look, and the base can be removed in order to mount the system to another VESA format monitor support system. The front of the system features a matte black bezel with a silver trim line across the bottom. At the far right of the trim is a pale blue LED power indicator, which also indicates the position of the power button tucked around the corner on the side of the system.
Fortunately I discovered you can upgrade the processor to the Intel i7-3770. This processor will significantly improve performance because it comes with four cores. In addition, each core has eight threads. The base model processor only has four threads per CPU core; the upgraded processor has 32 threads. Because data is processed and executed on a single thread, this gives you 4 times the multitasking ability. The speed also increases from 3.4GHz to 3.9 GHz, so data can process faster on each thread.

I can tell you that your computer's memory is one of the most important features of your computer because every program you run requires it in order to function properly. The more complicated the program, the more memory it needs to function. Unfortunately, the base model comes with only 2GB of memory. This is half the average memory for a business desktop. However, you can upgrade the memory up to 32GB.

Hard drive storage capacity starts at 500GB. Since most business files are on average less than 1MB of data, this is enough to store years of business documents, excel spreadsheets, receipts, invoices and more. If you run out of hard drive space, you can upgrade to a 2TB hard drive, which would be necessary if your business deals with video or audio files, as these can quickly fill a hard drive.

The built-in webcam has a physical shutter that can be closed by a sliding control at the top of the monitor, ensuring visual security for those uncomfortable with the idea of a camera pointed at them all day. The included wireless keyboard and mouse were comfortable and give solid tactile feedback. The keyboard includes a function key to allow you to adjust things like speaker volume, access media playback controls, and sleep the system right from the keyboard.

Good Machine, Has A Lot To Offer

Cutting costs, saving space, and increasing energy efficiency: the trifecta for which every business strives. Like most goals, though, they're pretty elusive, with the complexities typically multiplying whenever technology is involved. HP is evidently prepared to help businesses take a step in the right direction with the HP Compaq Elite 8300, a new all-in-one desktop that it unveiled today.

As is often the case with all-in-one desktops, the first thing about the 8300 you'll notice is its 23-inch HD (1,920 by 1,080) display. Regardless of whether you choose the optional touch capability, the display can be oriented in either portrait or landscape mode. It can even be mounted, making it perfect for tight spaces, like lobbies and kiosks.

But there is, quite literally, more than meets the eye. According to HP, the 8300 is the highest quality of its new fleet of all-in-one business PCs (more on the others below), and a quick rundown of its specs certainly reveals a considerable amount of firepower lurking beneath the surface.

The three-year warranty covers parts and labor. Six expansion slots and six drive bays means your computer can expand and evolve with the needs of your business.

The base model comes with only 2GB of memory and the Intel i3-3220 processor only has two cores.

The HP Compaq Elite 8300 business computer can be fast and efficient if you upgrade the processor and add memory. Unfortunately, the base model processor doesn't compare to the quad-core processors used by the best business computers. However, the expandable features are excellent and allow you to customize the computer to meet the needs of your business.
