HP Vectra VL800

Wee what can I say. Great spec.

Type Intel Pentium 4 1.7 GHz
Data Bus Speed 400MHz
RAM 128 MB / 2 GB (max)
Floppy Drive 3.5" 1.44 MB floppy
Hard Drive 1 x 40 GB - standard - ATA-100 - 7200 rpm
CD-ROM 48x
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS
Expansion Slots Total (Free) 1 ( 0 ) x processor - Socket 423
5 ( 4 ) x PCI - full-length
1 ( 0 ) x AGP 4x - full-length
4 ( 2 ) x memory - RIMM 184-PIN

Well basically this means that this is a very good computer as it has a high processor speed and also a high ability for the use of RAM. I got one and it allowed me to do pretty much anything that I wanted and also allowed me to up[grade it massively because I am one of these computer geek. Anyway back to the subject the Pentium four processor means that you can do multiple things at once whilst using the system as it is quite a high speed. I have seen faster going up to 4GHz but that was a very good computer.

RAM stands for Random Access Memory, which is for the basic users, memory. The more memory that you have allows you to run more applications simultaneously and multi task. In this excellent computer you can have up to 2GB of RAM meaning excellent performance.

The computer comes full with a 40GB hard drive, more than enough storage space for a standard home computer for the family. This amount of space on a hard disk drive is like having approximately 10 full DVD’s on you computer. As well as this excellent storage capacity it also comes with CD ROM drive and Floppy disk drive. For the excellent graphics capabilities of this computer then you need an excellent graphics card like the NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS which comes installed in this computer for awesome and crystal clear picture. Although you have excellent graphics a monitor does not come with this package so you will have to purchase one of them.

The computer can be easily up graded and added to because there are 4 full length PCI slots available that haven’t been used and also another two slots for more RAM meaning you can have a maximum of 2GB memory. Also with this excellent system you get the mouse, keyboard and also comes installed with Microsoft Windows 2000 which is the best operating system for networking if that is what the system is going to be used for.

I think that this computer is very very good and I would recommend it for anyone who needs a computer for a family home. It has great capabilities and will help you along the way into doing anything that you want whether its making movies or just using it for simple office work or even if its just so the kids have something to do when they are bored. It suits everyone.

Thank You for reading

£1500? For that spec? Surely not?

This has got to be a spec of a 4 or 5 year old pc and at todays prices I would not expect to pay more than £100. Even £1500.00 four years ago would have been way too much for a base unit of this spec. Sorry for the low rate but this is misleading to the reader.

£1500 for a PC with only a 40GB Hard Drive and 128MB RAM? And you're a computer geek?

Whilst you describe the components/peripherals of this PC you don't really tell us how well it operates/performs etc. hence the rating.
