This model of the 300PL uses a 350MHz Pentium II processor, running on a fast 100MHz system bus. The Pentium II combines advanced 32-bit architecture and hardcoded MMX instructions into a processor that handles both standard business and multimedia applications with ease. 512K of L2 cache helps keep the Pentium II operating at peak efficiency. The 300PL ships with 64MB of 100MHz SDRAM installed, upgradeable to a maximum of 384MB for more demanding applications. The 6.4GB S.M.A.R.T. hard drive offers fast Ultra-ATA data transfer rates, up to 33MB/sec. The capacious drive should provide plenty of storage for most individual users, especially when connected to the additional storage resources of an office LAN. An S3 Trio 3D accelerator provides 64-bit AGP graphics output to the 300PL. The chip uses 4MB of SGRAM video memory, as well as standard AGP access to main system memory. It enables a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 at 65K colors. The 300PL comes with a fast 32X CD-ROM drive, and 16-bit sound provided by an integrated Crystal Audio 4235 chip. Standard jacks for headphones and microphones are also present. Intel's LANDesk Client Manager and Lotus SmartSuite are also included with the system. An integrated 10/100 Base-TX LAN controller is built into the 300PL, so the system is ready to hook into your network right out of the box.
