The IBM PC 300PL is equipped with the highest level of IBM's standards-based Universal Manageability features so it can be easily managed from the moment it is delivered. Integrated 10/100 Ethernet with Wake on LAN technology and the new, easier-to-use LANClient Control Manager software can save significant time and money by eliminating routine visits to each system. IBM's Universal Management Agent is client software that helps to seamlessly integrate IBM PCs into a variety of management environments. A set of plug-ins, UMA Plus, further extends the PC 300PL's management capabilities by incorporating leading IBM desktop tools including SMART Reaction, PC-Doctor, and CoSession Remote 32 into the UMA. Each IBM PC 300PL includes a radio-frequency ID tag that makes it easier to deploy and inventory. Information can be recorded about an end user, including identifying a software image, without even taking the system out of its box. These systems are equipped with Alert on LAN, a product of the IBM/Intel Advanced Manageability Alliance, which can notify when a system has been tampered with or removed from the network, even if it is powered off. Alert on LAN also monitors system voltage, fan speed and temperature and can notify prior to potential failure.
