“ Brand: Shuttle „
The new Shuttle with the Intel Atom processor dual core included is the size of a hardback book. It can be fastened on the back of the monitor. It is fanless, quiet, low power. All accessories are interfaced via usb-2. What else you need is a laptop (2.5") sata hard drive, and some sodimm memory. An internal dvd can be used. What is the interface for the internal dvd? - couldn''t find out. What operating systems does it support? - couldn''t find out. The manufacturers site has more frequently asked questions than these. The manufacturer did not respond to email queries. I have built dozens of Shuttles over the years. This is the most frustrating. It is also the first to give me trouble. Most of my old ones are still working. Are the Windows-XP drivers available? - couldn''t find out. It wouldn''t install XP, so that was moot. It hung when trying to install Ubuntu. I installed Win-7, which worked fairly well. The internal wireless immediately came up and found my wireless net access points. Unfortunately, it would not pair with any of them. Why not? - couldn''t find out. I finally turned off the wireless and ran an RJ-45 cable. using dual monitor mode, with a vga and a dvi monitor, works fine. sometimes, the machine turns off the monitors after a period of inactivity. sometimes they are on overnight - why? can''t find out. Not the winodws power-save feature, tho. sometimes the systems turns itself off overnight, other times it still runs. why? couldn''t find out.
