Star Trek: Legacy (PC)
by buckle94
Star Trek legacy has only one good point, that you get to play as All of the famous captains from the series' that is about the much fun as you get, the story wasn't the best you go around chasing this vulcan around, what is the whole idea. The controls are very hard to learn, i think if they made a better tutorial at the beginning that ... could make everyones life a lot easier when they come to play this game. From my own view point the only thing good about the game is the skirmish levels you get the choice to command Borg, Romulan, Klingon and the Federation but if the whole story is based on the Federation i think most people agree that anything other then the Federation is good. I have to say is that i'm glad that i didn't spend a lot of money on that game because it is one of the worst games that i have ever played. Read the complete review |

Divine Divinity (PC)
by Barold
This is a hack and slash rpg. As usual in this type of game the emphasis is firmly on the hack/slash rather than rpg elements. You select from 1 of the classes - Warrior, Wizard or Survivor, these covering the standard groups of caster, melee and rogue/ranged character. As a nice change to some of this type of game, here you can choose ... the gender of you character as well. This choice is doesn't affect gameplay in any way but some people like the choice.
The 3 classes each have a unique ability. The survivor can sneak past things, the warrior has an area attack skill, and the wizard can teleport. I've played all characters (although mainly the warrior) and while these skills bring a little variety to the game I didn't find myself using them that often, the wizard's teleport being particularly useless. But that may be because of my playing style.
The classes have different starting skills, different starting amounts of hit points and spell points, and gain differing amounts each time they level up but other than the unique skills the classes have exactly the same skills available to them. As you level you get more skill points, which can be spent on any skill you meet the level requirement for. This means that if you want your warrior to cast a freezing spell you can invest points in the freeze spell just as a wizard would. This gives you a lot of scope for personalizing your character and of course allows many ways of messing it up.
The story is pretty good, its not just bridging the gap between killing things. Its quest driven as always but these are a little more varied than the norm. There are a few of the standard 'go there and kill this creature' type, but many more of them are taking messages, investigating things and collecting items.
In terms of the interface the game plays very simply. Combat is simply clicking on an enemy, or even use the target-nearest-enemy button. Pausing often is advisable as the battle can be difficult at times. Graphically the game is pretty average, the game was released in 2002 and even then it wasn't cutting edge. But they get the job done nicely and you don't feel you're playing an ugly game. The dialogue is pretty good too, and you have some decisions to make instead of simply clicking through a script until you get the next quest on rails.
Where I feel this game falls down is replay value. Since you have the same skills available to each class you can basically get your personal favourite skill combination on any character which makes playing any other class a little pointless. Its single player only, and once you complete the game you can't take your character through it again.
Overall it's a reasonable game, and I got my moneys worth out of it but I haven't played through it nearly as much as I have many others of this type.
If you like this get Diablo 2+Expansion or Sacred Gold. Read the complete review |

Medal of Honor: Airbourne (PC)
by sharpe106
Medal of Honor: Airborne, is a first person shooter set during the second world war by Electronic Arts and released in 2007 and is the 11th game in the Medal of Honor series. It has been released for other consoles as well.
Game play
You take on the role as paratrooper Boyd Travis in the 82nd Airborne Division in ... the US Army. What is different is that you can select where you start the mission when you jump from the aircraft at the beginning of the mission, you can aim where you want to land so you can land on an objective or in the corner out of the way if you do not want to start at the predetermined point.
The basic story is what you would expect fight you way across Europe mainly France, Italy and Germany and have to fight your way through several airdrop missions.
There is a good selection of weapons available, all which you would have seen before if you played any other second world war game and you can carry 2 primary weapons along with your pistol, as you use the weapons more and get more efficient with them you get add-ons improving the guns things like bigger clips, faster reloading. You never really need to worry about bullets as there is always plenty around to pick up the same with health with plenty of packs around to pick up.
The training mission at the beginning although is pretty boring and easy to do will be useful for new players to this type of game.
Controls/Graphics
Compared to similar games the graphics are not that good, but they are ok and the level of detail is not too bad, although it does flow smoothly, at a distance you have a hard time telling which side the soldiers are on.
The controls can be set up to how you like them like most games of these types so you should have no problems there
Difficulty
The single player is pretty easy to complete as the AI is pretty bad and easy to defeat, the story is fairly short and will not take that long to complete even for a novice player
Multiplayer
You can play as either allies or axis online on several maps which have been adapted from the single player campaigns as is normal, the main game types are death match, team death match and a domination type game. You can play either ranked or unranked matches and up to 12 people can play at once which compared to some other games is not that many.
Value for Money
With plenty of other second world war shooters around the question is do you really need another one the answer is probably not unless you can pick it up for cheap, the single player is pretty good to play and takes awhile to complete but is not that challenging and there is no story, the multiplayer is ok but there is better similar games out to play online.
