Adventure Quest.

Adventure Quest is a online, single player browser game released by Artix Entertainment. You take on the role of an adventurer looking to slay monsters, gain gold, level up and gain experience and also complete quests.

The game is built in flash and runs directly in any browser without the need of a high spec computer due to its colourful, yet basic graphics. You start the game by creating your character, choosing their name, the way they look and customizing their hair etc. You're then released into the world, ready to do battle with hordes of monsters and to get all of the treasure.

The Adventure Quest world is rather big, ranging from all kinds of lands. Sand, Sea, Ice, Mountains, Volcanos, you name it and you can be there in Adventure Quest. All of the game is very colourful and pleasing to the eye, while also looking very professional and well made.

The combat in Adventure Quest is very similar to the Final Fantasy series of combat. It's 100% turn based (You get a go, then the enemy, then you etc) and you can choose basic commands such as Attack with your weapon or cast spells. There is a huge range of spells with all different features, some do damage, some debuff (weaken the target) some heal you etc. There are also pets which fight along side you and can have special magical powers, aswell as a 'guest' who can fight along side you. Guests are picked up on your travels and dissapear on log out.

There are thousands of spells, pets, weapons and quests to obtain and all of them are very unique. There are different elements such as Fire, Ice, Water etc and all of these can be used to your advantage. For example hitting a fire monster with an ice weapon will do more damage than normal because they're weak to it.

Adventure Quest is also 100% free with the possability to upgrade to a 'Guardian' account which gives you premium features althought this costs around £8 for a one off payment.

All in all it's a very good game but the combat can be quite slow paced. If you get bored though, this game is great for burning some time. Well reccomended by me but just not for long hours at a time!
