Blair Witch Volume 1 - Rustin Parr (PC):
... and hugely influential though the film The Blair Witch Project might be, that doesn t mean that I m going to let a tawdry video game adaptation off the hook as a result. This, the beginning of a trilogy, doesn t exactly set a good precedent for the others, but in retrospect, depressingly, it is probably the best of the bunch. The premise revolves around the murderer, Rustin Parr, who is mentioned in the films ... Read the full review: Naff game by shaneo632 |

Mech Warrior 3 (PC) ... loved the other MechWarrior games; you control a giant robot and go around destroying stuff ad infinitum; what more else could you want? MW3 may be a flawed game, but it s also very fun and works well as a standalone effort that will please more discerning casual gamers and hardcore fans of the series alike. Notoriously, the MechWarrior games have had a pretty steep learning curve, and this is really no different. The controls in particular take a LOT of getting used to, but soon enough they do become operational, even if still a tad clunky. Even once you get used to the controls, though, this is a pretty challenging game; however, it isn t anything that takes more tha... Read the full review: Great action-packed mech game by shaneo632 |

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion / Elder Scrolls 4 (PC) ... to do this game justice? With its open-ended gameplay, you can modify your character s appearance, abilities and skills before setting off on your own path. Unlike other games intending to be of the same ilk, the player isn t forced along the main quest towards the game s end . Rather, you can take your time, if you so wish. Picking flowers, murdering townsfolk and helping priests all on the same day is not uncommon in the fantastically detailed in-game world. The game starts after the assassination of the Emperor. Before his death, you are charged with finding his previously-unknown heir to the throne, Martin. It sounds simple enough. But Martin is trapped in a cit... The Elder Scrolls III - Morrowind (PC) ... the fourth Elder Scrolls game, Oblivion, is quite rightly the best game in the series, Morrowind, the third game, is as complex and well-executed, and so is one worth revisiting once you ve ploughed through Oblivion. It is simply one of the most rewarding games in the genre and a triumph of style AND substance in harmony. It may be closer to ten years old than five now, but it still looks good, and its water graphics for the time were great in particular. What is most impressive to me, though, is how they ve managed to construct a world that seems so alive and devoid of artifice; there are no characters standing around doing nothing, and everything is created wi...
