Serious Sam - The First Encounter (PC):
... every game that tries to do the gaming world a favour and depict video games as art, there is another game that s uniformly dumb and meets people s expectations that the medium is a simple conception for simple people. Serious Sam is one of the most unpretentious, gloriously brainless and downright thrilling games I ve ever played. It is a whole lot of fun, as long as you aren t expecting anything approximating d... Read the full review: Unpretentious, gory, and thrilling by shaneo632 |

Myst (PC) ... was quite the revelation when it was first released, striking up a critical furore over its photo-realistic visuals (despite being point and click), as well as the depth and strangeness of its gameplay. It also become quite notorious because of its difficulty level, yet it has nevertheless earned its place in the annals of gaming history, and is a title that more discerning gamers wanting a challenge ought to check out. The visuals are absolutely gorgeous throughout this game, and still hold up very well today. Of course it gets away a little bit because it isn t always using an "active engine" and uses point and click-style adventure gameplay, but it was ... Spore (PC) ... do not understand Spore. I wanted to like it, all of the critics liked it, and judging by the consensus, most other people seemed to like it. I seem to be one of the few who saw it as overhyped, and was astounded by the game s superficiality when you consider how long it has been gestating. The game begins well, with you being able to create any sort of creature you like, beginning in the Cell stage as a single-celled organism. All you have to do is eat smaller ones to level up, and make sure the bigger ones don t munch on you; there s nothing really to it, it is very superficial. Eventually, you will be able to advance to the Creature Stage, which replicates the same ... Read the full review: Most overrated game of all time by shaneo632 |

Fallout 3 (PC) ... 3 follows on from the supremely popular and extremely well crafted Fallout games on the PC. This time the action takes place in Washington DC, in the wake of a nuclear war, where every sane person lives underground in a building called the Vault. The game is unique in that it allows you to play as the protagonist from birth, crawling around a crib, and examines various pivotal stages of your character s young life, building up to a pivotal event, where you leave the Vault and are forced to fend for yourself in the brutal post-apocalyptic wasteland above ground. As with any good RPG, Fallout 3 has a complex and intricate levelling system, allowing you to master bo... Read the full review: A great RPG by shaneo632 |
