shaneo632 Myst (PC): ... was quite the revelation when it was first released, striking up a critical furore over its photo-realistic visuals (despite being point and click), as well as the depth and strangeness of its gameplay. It also become quite notorious because of its difficulty level, yet it has nevertheless earned its place in the annals of gaming history, and is a title that more discerning gamers wanting a challenge ought to ch...

shaneo632 Spore (PC)
... do not understand Spore. I wanted to like it, all of the critics liked it, and judging by the consensus, most other people seemed to like it. I seem to be one of the few who saw it as overhyped, and was astounded by the game s superficiality when you consider how long it has been gestating. The game begins well, with you being able to create any sort of creature you like, beginning in the Cell stage as a single-celled organism. All you have to do is eat smaller ones to level up, and make sure the bigger ones don t munch on you; there s nothing really to it, it is very superficial. shaneo632 Fallout 3 (PC)

As with any good RPG, Fallout 3 has a complex and intricate levelling system, allowing you to master bo...

Age: Origins is the newest title by Bioware (since acquired by Electronic Arts) and promises to be the spiritual successor to Baldur s Gate while being based in a wholly new universe designed by the developers themselves. Note that this is a Single-Player only game and no multiplayer option is planned. Having pre-ordered the Collector s edition in the States (as the UK edition cost the same and came with much fewer goodies, as in just about none) and playing it for the past month, I have had mixed feelings about it. Firstly, its not nearly as dark and gritty as it was promised to be and your henchmen make lighthearted comments all the way. Secondly, the story su...
