Advantages: Great to look at and listen to.

Disadvantages: Slow and a little too tricky in places

Turning such a familiar story into a crime solving puzzler must have been a tough challenge for the designers but they've actually done it rather well.

The game imerses you in the world of the book through the medium of an entirely new character, Antoinette, who is the player's representative in the game and allows Poirot to hide in his compartment claiming illness.

Antoinette is not the only change to the novel and there is a strange second plot hiding underneath the familiar one lending the game a much needed element of surprise and mystery and even the potential of a happy ending.

The puzzles are tough, some might say a little too tough, but they are entirely in keeping with the source material and don't feel like they've been tacked on.

The two most impressive aspects of the game are the look of it and the sound of it. It is gloriously pretty and accurate to the feel of the period. It doesn't look like the world Agatha Christie knew. It looks like the world she wished she knew.

The voice acting is excellent and I never got over the frisson of having David Suchet in my computer. The ambient sound is also very good.

This game isn't quick but then if you love Agatha Christie you're not looking for quick.

Summary: Allows you to explore a great mystery novel and even find out a few new things.
