Advantages: Free., great business and strategy, FREE!!
Disadvantages: poor graphics and interface
I found Airport Inc for free (from Freeloader.com), so this is the reason I have it, I’m not sure I would if it wasn’t free. I’m not sure if I would recommend it if it wasn’t free either. The game starts by asking you where you want to build your airport. This is a detailed part of the game as there are many locations (all over the world) and they all have advantages and disadvantages. It then asks you how close to the city you want to build it (closer locations get more passengers but are more expensive). After this you have to build your first terminal and runway. The game claims you can use already-designed terminals, or your own but I can’t find the tool for building your own terminal (If you know how to, please tell on the comments page J). The runway can be built in multiple lengths but to start with you can only use the 1000 and 2000 metre runway (for small and medium planes). You also must build many safety buildings like matinance and police/fire stations if you want to get the best deals with contractors. The different air companies in your area will first get a master contract with you if they want to fly planes from your airport. This agrees the charges for all your services with that company. Soon after this they will start offering deals of certain planes. You will have to agree times and which runwat they will land on. This game is very detailed with business strategy, but there are things that aren’t so good about the game. The graphics aren’t very impressive, even with all the detail turned down. It does run on low spec though. It also has an awkward control system that assumes you want to close windows when you don’t want to. This game is mostly good, with a few bugs. I would have given it three stars but as it can be got free on www.freeloader.com I will give it four. I recommend you do download it from here.

- 18/10/01 I didn't think this was worth paying for but if you can get it for free now I'll have to give it a go. Interesting opinion :) |
