Sid Meier was, and still is one of the best developers of turn-based strategy games ever for the PC. After the stunning success of games such as Civilization, and the sequel Civilization 2 as well as Railroad Tycoon and SimGolf the world waited eagerly for his next offering. The one problem with a successful series such as the Civilization one however is that sometimes you can overdo it and try to milk the money by releasing very similar games (This did happen later sadly). However, to his credit, Sid Meier has taken the bold step of changing the environment for this game.
