Play the game as either a pilot or commander of either the RAF or Luftwaffe. The campaign is dynamic and in the case of the RAF the campaign operates dynamically in real time. Or just leap into the thick of the action with a choice of quick missions.

Battle of Britain is a game many people will have over looked, but believe me it is one hell of a game. I picked my game up from an online auction for £8 which including postage compared with its current selling price of £24.99 in the shops. The aim of the game is for you to either defend or attack Britain depending if you want to be a Luftwaffer Commander or one of the Jolly good old chaps in the RAF. The entire game starts from July 10th 1940 through to September 15th 1940, and you need to head of the German attacks until this date to ensure victory. You can fly five aircraft with include: - British Spitfire Hurricane And German Messerschmitts BF109 and BF110 Stuka Dive bomber Ju87. On the German side you can also take a seat in the gunners seat on a Dornier Do17, Heinkel He111 or Junkers Ju88. It’s a truly lovely scary site to see a Spitfire coming up at you at such speed. From their displays these Spitfires gave on this game, no wonder so few Spitfires kept the Germans at bay for so long. They are truly remarkable machines! The graphics on this game are above average, with excellent details going into the realistic Dogfights. This game has the most realistic and largest dog flights I have ever see in a game. The game is so much fun for me, when one of your co fighters says incoming bombers at 9 o’clock and then you see wave after wave of bombers coming closely followed by German fighters. It’s a excellent game because once you have killed of the bombers escorts, you can take the rich picking of the bombers as you machine gun there engines and watch trails of smoke and bits of its bodies fall off. If you lucky the wing will come off, but watch it does not fly straight into you aircraft! Another thing I really like is the dialect of the British pilots as you shot at the Germans. Sayings like “He’s had his wake up call”, ̶
0;He’s shooting at me” are truly great because of the accent. If it was any other accent you would get sick and switch the radio off. There are some bugs on this game and you will need to set your desktop at 1068 x 768 x 16 Bit colour to get this game to run. Otherwise you get the error message when you crash that the CD is not in the drive. You also need to download a patch called BOB patch 2 (Make sure its the 3.4 MB version) from the www.empireinteractive.com website. I still have problems running the game because I have a problem with it and my joystick, so if you have a Logitech Force Feedback Wingman Force 3D stick….don’t touch this game!. The Minimum spec for this game is Windoews 95 /98 ME Pentium 2 233MHZ /recommend 400MHZ Direct x 7 compatible 3d Graphic card with 8MB / Recommended 16MB 32MB Free system RAM / Recommended 64MB 450MB Hard disk space / recommend 550MB 6 Speed CD Rom It is a good game and has a good and growing following at places like www.simhq.com .If you can live with some problems it is a truly great game. Thanks For Reading Barry
