---Intro---- "War is not pretty!" whoever said that never laid eyes on Battlefield 1942. In this first person shooter, you find yourself smack in the middle of World War II. It is one of the biggest multiplayer games out there today, surpassing games like Quake and Counter-Strike in popularity. ---Gameplay---- You can be one of several classes, including Medic, Support, Assault, Scout, and Engineer. Each has it's own perks and drawbacks and each class comes with it's own inventory of weapons and equipment. However, you can take the kit of any dead soldier on the battlefield. The whole game is basically a battle over territory, where ... Read the complete review

"The quickest way of ending a war is to lose it." (George Orwell) Battlefield 1942 is unsurprisingly set in the middle of World War II and the fighting takes place in four main theatres of war - East and West Europe, Africa and the Pacific. Depending on where the battle takes place the player can choose to play as a soldier from one of the following four nations - America, Britain, Russia or Japan. Once you have decided upon your nation you then have to decide what type of soldier you wish to play as. There are five different types of soldier to choose from - Scout, Assault, Anti-Tank, Medic or Engineer. Soldiers carry different equipment ... Read the complete review

Battlefield is a title that EA kept under wraps well- when it came out everyone expected unreal torunament 2003 to completly demolish everything in the multiplayer stakes. It turns out the new kid on the block has completly demolished everything else in the multiplayer stakes. Technical aspects: Battlefield 1942 is a high specification monster: The minimum specifications quoted by EA: Pentium 3 or equivalent 500 MHz, 32MB graphics card and so on are a little bit wishful, and at these specs you will experience bad graphics, long loading times, slowdown and so on. Indeed, at only 500Mhz i am told the game is almost totally unplayable. Since there is ... Read the complete review

I've known about Battlefield 1942 for sometime and the first time I got my hands on the demo it didn't work. The reason for this being my old graphics card couldn't cope. The game required a graphics card that could cope with hardware textures or something. Also because Battlefield 1942 is mainly a multiplayer game (played via LAN or on the 1000's of free internet servers) it wouldn't have been much of a experience playing on my 56k modem. But recently I bought a brand-spankingly new graphics card (a Radeon9500 Pro if you must know) and decided to give Pipex ADSL broadband ago. I now had the ingredients to play Battlefield 1942 online ... Read the complete review

Battlefield 1942 PC I bought Battlefield 1942 for the PC around a year ago, it came in a pack of three Battlefield 1942 games including... Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 1942 The Road to Rome and Battlefield 1942 Secret Weapons of WWII. I bought them for around £15 at Game in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I will do seperate reviews from this one on the other two Battlefield 1942's. The Battlefield 1942 Box... On the front there is a logo Battlefield 1942 and there is a picture of a tank with exploding vehicles with fire behind it. On the back of the box there is information on the game and four pictures. There is two logos. "In the Air...In ... Read the complete review
