Ah, there's nothing like retro-gaming. And indeed, Battlezone 2 is nothing like retro-gaming - it isn't, as you may think, the sequel to Battlezone, the vector based tank shoot-em-up that caused a storm in arcades many moons ago. It is instead the sequel to the GDR Gold Award-winning Battlezone, a 3D real time strategy game from 1998 that inherited the name but very little else from the aforementioned vector based tank game. Understand? Didn't think so - but all you really need to know is that Battlezone 2 improves on a game that was already pretty spiffy in the first place. I wasn't dissapointed. The first thing you notice are the graphics. They are excellent, even though I didn't have them anywhere near full level. Some people may find their Sci-Fi, futuristic look a bit to glossy though. For awesome multiplayer and a strange single player experience... GET THIS GAME. Graphically, its awesome. The buildings are huge, so huge, they look like King-Bloody-Kong could scale 'em in a week!!! You dont have to be in you funny little craft thing. Run around, dont show up on radar... THEN SNIPER THE HELL OUT THE ALIENS!!! The intro sequence lays out the whole storyline on a silver platter. Its pretty much the same as most games, aliens not liking us, us not liking them. Its a nice HATE-HATE relationship, and, as usual, this is a good place to go from. Battlezone II's gameplay pretty much dies once you've completed the single ... Read the complete review

I have to say i did enjoy this game the graphics a great i remember my first game it was ah the havoc big lan game, i like the idea of controling your own craft or takeing a c&c style of looking at it i think it WAS worth every penny i paid, i must admit it has hung a few times and i've got a Gforce atm which runs it find and to all you out there who didn't have the right card etc. sorry you really have missed a great game. Anyway the units not sure about everyone else but my favoutrite unit woould have to be the tank i don't really like the assault tank the walker or the scoins versoin of the walker as i perfer fast units anyway thats my two cents. ...
