a gem of a game a total hit! try before you buy

First introduced to pop cap games through facebook with bejeweeled blitz and more recently bejewelled twist. If you want to preview the game before you buy it you can download a trial version from pop cap website. it allows you to reach and complete level 10 but thats then game over! You need to buy the game to continue. Those familiar with bejeweled will know that its a game of matching up the same coloured gems in sequences of 3,4,5 gems vertical and horizontally and even corner sequences three vertical with 3 horizontal. Each successful match will remove the gems and they cascade dropping down new gems to match. By matching corner gems or 4 and 5 gems in a row you obtain extra features such as flaming gems which when matched blow up more gems around it. Bejewelled blitz is timed so its a race against the clock to see how high a score you can get. bejewelled blitz has multiplying gems which increase your score and the new version allows you to collect coins to buy boosts to give you a head start in the game.

Bejeweled twist is similar in principal, you still have to match the gems but instead or sliding gems vertically and horizontally you have to twist them so they move clockwise in a circular direction which makes it a little more tricky as you can end up moving gems that you didnt mean to until you get used to it. its slightly annoying where gems up near the top row of the game board are difficult to move as your circle to twist the gems wil not select the gems you want as it wont go high enough out of the board. Bejewelled twist game does have a slighly new twist on the traditional game as not only do you have to twist the gems in a circular motion but you also get ticking bombs which count down to zero with every move you make. this is the challenging bit as every level you move up the harder it becomes and you could end up with several ticking bombs and you dont know which to go for first. ~the other twist is that you get locked gems which wont move. They are padlocked until you match them with 2 or more gems to unlock them. Mind blowingly frustrating but exciting and challenging as you attempt to move gems about the board to match the ticking bombs away. It is just as excilerating and as addictive as bejewelled blitz. If you do happen to tick a bomb down to zero dont dipair as you have a get out clause where you have the opportunity you stop spinning gems and match the gems with the bomb then it doesnt detonate and you return to the game. Be warned, the more you use this function the harder it gets. all in all a light hearted exciting challenging and often frustrating game but i live it and am totally addicted.
