Disadvantages: Online play shut down ?

I bought black and white for £4.99 about 3 years ago now, not expecting much due to the price and the fact that i had not heard an awful lot on it, boy was i wrong. What I discovered was one of the most original and fascinating games I have ever played. It truly is a unique game and now an uttermost classic piece of gaming.

You take on the role of the mighty one himself, yep thats right, God. Now this is a interesting prospect which gives you much capabilities withing the game itself such as answering peoples prayers, being good (helping, giving,building,feeding etc) or being bad (killing, destroying,causing havoc, casting devastating miracles etc..) This is great as it gives you, the player complete freedom to do as you like.

The single player game works very well with you god having to become mighty through being good or bad (you choose) on various islands to gain influence. The more influence you have the stronger and more powerful you become, how you use this power is up to you. You also get a creature in the game (Tiger, Cow, Gorilla) as you start which goes through the game with you and becomes stronger as you do. Also you can teach your creature many things and can factor whether he will be good or bad, plus you can even teach him miracles to cast for themselves and others. The creature side works very well and is perhaps my favourite part of the game (next to building impressive villages that is)

Also has online capability allowing you to play online against others but as far as i have heard it has now been shut down to make way for the other black and white games in the series. Its a shame if this is true as i have never experienced online play for black and white :(

I have seen it for sale for about £2.98 at certain places now and at that price you CANNOT go wrong. It seriously is amazing even to this day and it has redifined gaming forever. A true classic ! 5/5
