Advantages: Excellent graphics, Has all the great characters
Disadvantages: Quite tricky for younger players
Have you ever wished that you could escape into the world of cartoons ? Wouldn't you just like to be one of those characters that always seems to get the last laugh ? Well, now you can as Bugs Bunny in the Playstation game of Lost In Time. Bugs Bunny is on his travels again via the tunnel network and his sense of direction, not being what it should, takes the wrong turning. As he pops up, he discovers a time machine that someone has just left lying around (like you do). Being the curious bunny (I said bunny not Benny), that he is he decides to get in it and off he zooms to Nowhere (the starting point of the game). His adventure begins when he meets Merlin the Sorcerer (Merle to his friends) who informs him that he is .. Lost In Time ! In order for him to find his way back home he will have to travel through various eras and collect clock symbols along the way. The first level of Nowhere is a practice level which is great because it allows you to play in real situations and helps you to learn all Bugs' special moves. The sign posts that are dotted around tell you how to sneak over rickety bridges, how to kick the bad guys to release hidden carrots and how to fly with your ears. There are 5 eras in total to complete and at the end of each era there is the bad guy to defeat. This might be Yosemite Sam, Elmer Fudd or even Marvin The Martian. Whilst in the time machine Bugs can select which era to visit. To begin with only the first era is available but as time goes on (excuse the pun), and you collect more clocks, you unlock the other eras. Each era has a pre-requisite number of clocks associated with it. The Eras in brief ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Era 1 - Nowhere - the practice stage ~~~~~~ Era 2 - The Stone Age ~~~~~~ You begin with three orange carrots in your possession which represent your lives. Each time you fall in the water (Bugs can't swim), or get attacked, you lose half a
carrot. Carrots are lying around all over and are hidden in items such as boxes. Walk into them to collect them and replenish your life. Each era has various levels within it and these are represented by rabbit holes. Dive into the holes to access the areas and collect the clocks. There are also golden carrots to be had and these unlock special sub-levels. Throughout each level there are checkpoints and occasionally items fall from the sky so beware ! Once you have collected all the clocks from a level you can save and pop back up to choose another level within that era. You will meet Elmer Fudd dressed in caveman's clothes and carrying a club as well as the sleeping pterodactyl and the dinosaur bridges. A great first level that keeps you entertained throughout. Era 3 - The Pirate Years ~~~~~~ This is set on a island with Yosemite Sam being the irritable old pirate that needs beating to win the level. On your travels around the island you must also watch out for crabs that try to pinch you and gun powder barrels that try to run you down. This level also introduces the trusty ACME box which you can break, 5 broken boxes equals another clock. There are sharks to sneak past and oysters secreting pearls which are used for target practice ! This level requires a bit more dexterity and the checkpoints are few and far between so you often end up have to restart. Era 4 - Medieval Times ~~~~~~ This level is in a castle occupied by dragons and Witch Hazel. She has a nice steaming cauldron just waiting for that special ingredient - YOU !! You have to dodge cannon balls and avoid the dragons fiery breath to reach Witch Hazel. There is also a fire pit to cross and knights to defeat to collect your clocks. Era 5 - The 1930's ~~~~~~ A bank robbery is in progress in this level and Bugs has to outsmart Rocky & Mugsy. Safes hold carrots and there are special upstairs and downstairs levels to complete. There are
also lots of hidden clocks and the last level involves throwing dynamite at the bank robber on the rooftops. For around £14.99 there is so much to do in this game that it will keep you (them) busy for weeks !!
