Advantages: neat combat/skill system, good music
Disadvantages: armors/weapons limited, takes long time to get rolling.
Cabal Online is your standard MMORPG with a few twists that many would not consider worth the trouble. The game focuses on rewarding the player as they play, unlocking abilities as they hit certain levels, many of which are absolutely essential.
And this is where things get tricky to evaluate. On one hand, if you don't read the story, do the quests and submerge yourself into this world, you're boned. Your skills will be weaker, you won't get the special abilities and leveling up becomes a real chore. On top of that if you face somebody who DID do all that, they'll have abilities in their arsenal that would wipe you clean from the face of the world.
The combat system is not as advanced as they make it out to be. Very much like most MMORPG's, it's a click, target them, and click buttons to do attacks. I was originally under the impression that you would be able to free attack like in Lunia, but I guess I was wrong :D!
A good amount of weapons and armor are limited. The mages for example, looks all the same, but different colors for nearly the first 60 levels you play. Sure the gloves look a lil different from time to time, and the orbs get bigger on your hands, but really, that isn't enough for me. It seems the warrior classes get some interesting armors as they go, but really it's just keep going until you are a high enough level to get something else.
The skill system is pretty neat, once you're done with a beginner skill you can pay money to "unlearn" them, and reclaim the skill point you had used for it, to put somewhere else.
Summary: A decent game, but was not enough to captivate me for long.
