Disadvantages: The singleplayer side of the game may seem a little boring at times.
If you enjoyed the previous Call of Duty games then you will definitely find yourself attached to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
Far from the old fashioned towns, weapons and vehicles of WWll featured in the prequels to it, this game contains a whole new array of modern equipment, from the weapons right down to the boots you'll be wearing as you battle your way across various terrains, looking out for your team-mates. Not a single detail has been missed in the making of this game; even the hand signals made by fellow soldiers have been included. The weapons arsenal included in this game is extremely extensive and very fun to experiment with. You will be able to use weapons such as the barret .50 cal, M14, etc.
The game has two parts to it:
Singleplayer- This side of the game has somehow managed to incorporate real warfare with gameplay, making it a colossal experience. You may be sent on an under-cover mission as a sniper, or to rescue a pinned down friendly convoy. The range of missions included in singleplayer vary a lot, meaning that you will seldom get bored of it. After playing the game you will feel as if you were out in the field for a few hours, watching your mates' backs, battling your way through different terrains, into masses of different enemies. The manufacturers of this game have really Captured the knack of making you feel as if you really were in your characters boots. You can also change the difficulty levels of the game according to how you prefer your gaming experience. You may, however, find yourself bored of having endless enemies running at you, in which case, you can switch to multiplayer.
Multiplayer-This side of the game uses the same maps in which singleplayer gameplay is based, however, it differs much from it. you start out as a rookie and must rank yourself up by gaining experience points and completing various challenges. there are 55 ranks and all the way you will be unlocking new weapons, attachments and perks to customise your gameplay. The main advantage of multiplayer is that you are playing with and against characters that have people just like yourself behind them to do the thinking and the difference from singleplayer is actually noticeable. all you have to do is create yourself a name and log onto a server, and you can start ranking up right away. whether you enjoy a strategic game, or an all out killing spree, i guarantee you will find a server that serves your exact purpose.
the quality of your computer will obviously make a difference to your gameplay. i myself have a decent computer and a good graphics card so i was able to make the most of the game. i would suggest the same for you as this will make your gameplay a lot more interesting and encompassing.
Summary: A very good FPS with a very convincing sense of realism and detail.
