Advantages: a really great game. online play is a huge bonus
Disadvantages: single player a little short
Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare
This is the fourth installment in the Call of Duty series. All of the games in this series have been absolute stormers so far, and the best series of first person shooters avaliable.
Modern Warfare, is the first CoD to take place in modern times, the previous ones all having being set during the second world war.
This game is set in the near future, with civil war ongoing in Russia and in the Middle East, a radical leader has overthrown the government. You play as a either a British SAS Comando or an American Marine, fighting your way through levels in the Middle East, Russia and Ukraine.
The single player allows you to experience a variety of different missions, some on foot, others in the air as solider and some as a helicopter gun pilot. These levels are all great if not a little bit short overall.
The graphics of this game are very good and it is very life like. The gun's are all very original, as this being the first 'modern' game in the CoD series, I think there is a nice selection and it really does it justice.
The highlight of the game is the multiplayer system. Based online, it is very quick with a variety of different levels and tasks. More impressice though, for achieving tasks and kills online, you receive points, which makes new guns and attachments avaliable, so as you improve and play more, more equipment is made avaliable to you. It also provides you with a different rank, which everyone can see at the end of the game, so you can look and see whether those you managed to kill were regular privates or a an expert major!
Overall a great game, you will spend more time online than on the single player.
Summary: Very highly reccomended
